Heritage volunteers  are members of the Arts Society who give their time to preserve our heritage.

The team from West Wycombe is currently based at County Hall Aylesbury under the helpful eye of Sam Joiner, Collection  Care and Conservation Officer.  Heritage volunteering is always on Mondays during school term times from 10am until 2.30pm, with a break for lunch in the County Hall Restaurant.  Individual involvement is about once a month.

The previous huge task (716 items) of cleaning and wrapping Parish Records in special paper to combat acid  decay has been completed, as has making very many bespoke calico bags to protect ancient and delicate maps.  The project for 2018 is cleaning and wrapping Manorial Court material comprising volumes and some rolls alternated with cleaning solicitors’ papers from High Wycombe.

The team is a fun and flexible group.  All you need to be a Heritage Volunteer is enthusiasm.

If you would like to join the Heritage Team you will be assured of a very warm welcome and interesting and rewarding work.
